For my final project I decided to create a movie trailer about my family’s new puppy, Ella. I took videos of her doing different things around the house and yard and edited them in adobe premiere. I muted all the videos and messed around with some coloring in them. Next I cut down the videos I took into smaller clips to fit better into a movie trailer type format. I created a movie poster in photoshop to go along with the movie and promote it. I took a couple of the pictures I had and cropped out certain parts of it while cutting parts of my video out with the snipping tool to try and make it more movie poster-like. Again I messed around with the coloring of some of the pictures (very slightly as if I did any more it would take away from how cute the puppy is). I transformed some photos, flipping them around, blowing them up, shrinking them down, cropping out pieces that were unnecessary. Lastly, I created a movie blog dedicated to this hit new movie called “Pupper”. I will put the link to the website at the bottom of this page so that you can see the greatness that is my puppy’s face. I decided to do this about my puppy because during this quarantine there is not much to do outside of my home. I utilized my new puppy and made her into a star. I told her that if I can make her into a movie star she will get a lot of treats and so she agreed and signed the contract. 

The production plan was simply to take videos of my puppy doing things that we are trying to teach her not to do, for instance, digging. I decided to make digging the main point of this movie because she digs all around our yard and learned it from my brother’s dog Marvin who is almost three years old. Together they have almost dug out an entire circle around the sand pit in our backyard where our pool used to be. I plan on using this video to teach her what not to do, although I am unsure if it will be effective. 

I recorded video for this project for about three days straight. Believe it or not, for as cute as she is, she is a menace and made it very difficult to get good videos of her without giving her a treat (which you can see in the videos themselves). The movie will be packed with action and adventure as Ella digs around the sand pit and wrestles around with my brother’s dog Marvin over sticks that Marvin brought into the sand pit. As for pictures, I took them as I found opportunities. She’s been on a puppy schedule of wake up, eat,  play, sleep, rinse and repeat about three times a day. This allowed me to know when and where to be to get the best footage for her. I even took her on a road trip to get some pictures for the poster at my apartment. There the girls across the hall and my roommates helped me give her a darker look for the “THE UGLY” side of the movie poster. I wrote a couple blog posts on the website hyping up the movie and even played around with some movie critic names to give it a more realistic touch.
